Prof Gina Ravenscroft

Prof Gina Ravenscroft is a Senior Principal Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia and leads the Rare Disease Genetics and Functional Genomics group at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. Her research focuses on disease gene discovery and characterisation for neuromuscular and neurogenetic diseases that present across the lifespan. Recently her team have identified and characterised novel repeat expansion disorders. In addition, she also works closely with the Neurogenetic Unit, PathWest to implement new diagnostic tests for these disorders. She is on the scientific advisory boards for A Foundation Building Strength for Nemaline Myopathy and the FSHD Global Research Foundation and is Chair of the World Muscle Society Scientific Programme Committee.
